Muslim Community Extols Uzodinma for Feasting Them on Eid El Fitr Celebration

Celebrating this year’s Eid El Fitr in great elation, leaders and members of Imo State Muslim Community have Extolled Governor Hope Uzodinma for feasting them at the Banquet Hall of the Government House Owerri.

The Muslim Community through the State Northern Community Traditional Ruler, HRH, Alahji Auwal Baba Sulaiman, extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Governor who he noted  celebrates with them at every Eid El Fitr celebration.

The traditional ruler gave the commendation during an interview with journalists at his palace, at Ama Hausa, Owerri Municipal Council, on Monday.

Informing that the celebration of Eid El Fitr, widely known as Salah, comes as a result of the Muslims having completed their 29 days fast of Ramadan, Alhaji Sulaiman affirmed that the Moon was sighted on Saturday which led to the declaration of Salah by the Sultan of Sokoto.

He stated that the significance of the celebration is for them to express their gratitude to Almighty Allah for the enabling grace to witness and celebrate Salah in good health.

He seized the opportunity to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing them and Christians likewise across the regions of the country with palliative to cushion the biting effects of hunger among the people, especially the lessprivileged.

“The President, having considered the hunger condition of the people in the country, deemed it necessary to extend economic support especially to the lessprivileged and the palliative were not only released to South East and South South of the country but across other regions”

Thus, the palliative distribution was flagged off at Heroes Square as Imo State, through the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodinma,  coordinated the distribution of the palliative to the 11 states of the South, while I coordinated for my people.

indeed a successful distribution and a unifying point for both Muslims and Christian leaders from the 11 South States by God, as they shared similar events at the time; Muslims observed Ramadan while Christians, their lent” Sulaiman noted.

He charged Muslims to continue to adhere to the teachings of Allah and live an upright life.

In his words, Chairman, Hausa/Naze Cluster Market in Owerri, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulsalam, said they were very happy to be hosted at the Government House Owerri by the number one citizen of the state, adding that it was really a swell time to mark the Salah celebration.

Abdulsalam advised his fellow Muslims to allow the joy, unity and oneness experienced during the Salah celebration to continue to drive them well.
